The Idiot Box

Admittedly I watch far too much TV. Even when I’m not watching the TV, I’m watching a DVD or playing Wii or just have it on for no reason. When I am watching television to watch TV I have noticed that sometimes there really isn’t anything to watch. How can it possibly be true that when I was a kid and there were only seven stations (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and three UHF stations) for kids to watch cartoons on, that I could always find something to watch? Now that there are over 300 stations, On Demand, HBO, Cinemax, Starz, etc., there are so many times that there is nothing worth watching on. MTV doesn’t play videos, TV Land has Roseanne on, a show I’ve always hated, or Paid Programming (Infomercials) on every other channel. Why is there never anything to watch?

I guess that’s why they call it the Idiot Box. Not because it’s the idiot box, but it’s for idiots like me.

Planning To Post Everday In February

February is a short month. Even during Leap Year’s February is still the shortest month of the year. If you have been following this blog for any length of time you might have noticed that I usually post every other day. Whenever something interesting happens on the days I don’t plan on posting I have added additional posts. I’ve decided to try to make a post every day during this month.

I took the coward’s route and chose the shortest month but I never claimed not to be a coward. I am going to make a strong effort not to post wallpaper, photos or short change you in any way with ‘filler’ posts. If however I have already scheduled a certain day during to February to make a photography post, I am not going to move it to March. In addition, I plan to share at least one recipe. I was requested to do so in January and have scheduled another soup recipe, I think?

If you have yet to become a subscribed visitor to Morning Erection, perhaps now is a good time.

In addition to trying to find enough material to fill 28 days, (now I sound like a stand up comedian), I also intend to add a history fact at the end of every post to acknowledge Black History Month.

Comment Dare; Wanna Play?

Wanna play a game? It’s a game I really just thought of today. It’s not really a game, more like a challenge or dare. If you don’t already know this, leaving comments on another blog is a great way to generate visitors to your site. There is only one person that I have met online who blogs and doesn’t want any visitors. Writing might be cathartic for some but honestly, I want visitors. I want people who like what they read when they get here.

I can’t say I hit the mark all the time, however I am one who comments daily on sites I’ve never been to before and sites I visit regularly. People who visit the sites I have left comments on turn around and visit my site. Wanna play?

Here’s the rules. Do a search on WordPress blogs on a topic of your choice. Visit a site matching your topic. Pick any post that has at least one comment with a click-able link. Leave a comment yourself on that post, then visit the site of the person who also left a comment. At their site, leave a comment and follow another commentors link. Continue until you visit at least 10 blogs and leave 10 comments. Come back here and leave a comment saying you played the game and leave the link to the very last blog you commented on.

That’s all. Either way, if you chose not to play tell me why and if you do play, just follow the directions and leave a comment here at the end. have fun and lets see if there is an increase in your visitors for the rest of the week.
