Guest Blogger, Iron Cook Carl

Welcome Iron Cook Carl from Iron Cook: American

Carl has not been blogging lately but his blog is still online and I use some of the recipes he has posted.
All the other guest bloggers are currently blogging but at the time I starting asking him to guest, he was still blogging regularly. Please visit his site but as I said, he no longer posts so I cannot guarantee he will respond to any comments however he has agreed as all guests do, to reply to comments here.

As always, it is a great honor for me to be able to have a guest blogger, especially one that in his own life is too busy to blog on his blog.
Readers, as a favor to me please show Iron Cook Carl the courtesy of leaving a comment. Thank you very much.

Everybody’s Body
My guest post is intended for adults (18 and over) but it is not dirty or gratuitously sexual. It does contain mature subject matter.
I believe most of Tom’s readers fall into the category of 18 and older.

Mr. Baker has been asking me for over a year to guest post for him. I like visiting his blog because of the interesting things he comes up with and his creativity, but with four children I was not so sure about adding my name to a site called Morning Erection. → Fast forward to today. I think I finally have something to say other than just posting a recipe or two and after all a morning erection is a normal bodily function. I mean he could have called it Monthly Menstruation. Perhaps a lot more people might take offense.

Anyway, I am grateful for the opportunity to share with his readers since I haven’t posted anything on my blog for a very long time. I’ve been out of work since June 2009. I am in the 99%; one of those out of work and who exhausted their unemployment. I didn’t know what to do with myself or for myself. Then one day I decided to go back to school thanks to my sister’s encouragement. Going back to school when I’m nearly 50 years old?

I have been giving massages to female friends since I was a teenager and it seemed like a field of study that would come easy for me. I found one of the best schools in the country for Massage Therapy and enrolled. I’m learning a lot and I have helped a lot of people with issues that I never thought I could. When I gave massages before, they were just relaxing Swedish massages but now I have learned about muscles and ligaments, the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system, blood flow and inflammation, brain chemistry and so much more. Now I can affect healing changes in people and I am loving every minute of it.

Everybody’s Body

PP&S Mobile Massage is the name of my business and I travel to offices and homes to give people their massages. One of the many things I have learned is massage is not something reserved only for wealthy individuals or for people who stay at a nice hotel with a spa or on a cruise ship and can afford to pamper themselves. Massage is an everyday necessity for normal health and well being. Everybody’s body needs to be massaged every day is the slogan for my business because it is true. My guest post is not an attempt to promote my business though. Most of Tom’s readers live no where near me and I still have yet to graduate anyway. I just wanted to give you some background before I got to the crux of this post.

One of the assignments for my Massage Theory class was to write a report and give it to the class as an oral report. I decided to do the report on erotic massage for husbands and wives – I’m one of those prudes who believe sex and the like are reserved for married folk. I know I’m in the minority but that’s my belief.

I received a 100 on the report. For someone afraid of public speaking and who was concerned about how the content of my report was going to be received I think it’s pretty good. The information in my report is for anyone to read of course, however it is directed towards unromantic husbands who need an idea to spice things up for their wife. You can get out of your rut and do something wonderful for your wonderful wife.

Snippets from my oral report: Erotic and Sensual Massage

Erotic massage incorporates techniques from other forms of massage therapy like Swedish to enhance sexual arousal or even promote sexual gratification. Some couples use erotic massage as foreplay as a prelude to sexual intercourse. Typically erotic massages concentrate on not the full body massage but the genitals and erogenous zones.

It seems that everyone is familiar with the term happy ending. The saying evolved from Asian female “masseuse’s” who would massage both male and female clients to orgasm. Generally in America, it is solely representative of males who have the massage complete with ejaculation and it is done in massage parlors. Erotic massage in the United States (except for Nevada), is illegal for professional massage therapists to perform and is considered prostitution whether a licensed therapist performs it or a masseuse carries out the act in a parlor.

Erotic massage between couples are perfectly legal as is most types of sexual contact between consenting adults. The sexual activities that go on behind the closed doors of a personal residence do not fall under the jurisdiction of law enforcement unless there has been a report of physical or mental harm.

There are two schools of thought as to where erotic massage originated. One school of thought believes erotic massage began in India because of the teachings of the Kama Sutra book. The other school has sensual massages originating from China. The Greeks and Romans were very hedonistic cultures and also incorporated massage into their everyday life. Hippocrates, a Greek physician and the father of modern medicine is quoted as stating, “A physician must be experienced in many things but assuredly also in rubbing.” Hippocrates believed all disease resulted from natural causes and rest, healthy food, exercise, massage, baths, friends and listening to music helped the body to heal itself.

Intimacy is important in a relationship and jumping right into sex is not intimate at all. Taking time to enjoy one another and each other’s body is an integral part of being intimate. Erotic massage can help achieve that closeness as long as the giver is not hurried. When giving an erotic massage it is extremely advantageous to take your time. The recipient of the massage will benefit by feeling like you enjoyed giving the massage as much as they enjoyed receiving. Humans have two basic instincts. One is survival and the other is procreation. We also have the need to be loved. We express our love in many ways but touching is most definitely one of them. It can be said that sex and our need for companionship encompasses both our survival instinct and our desire to procreate or carry on the species. It is natural then, that we would find the need to include sexual activity into the massage experience.

Tom scolded me for not reading your blog post – I know, I suck.

    But better late than never!

I learned a lot about massages from this post, and it actually made me really intrigued. I still want to get a professional massage, and this post has done nothing but reinforce that idea!

Hmm – erotic massage eh? I need to get me one of those too – better give my Martykins a call.

Don’t pay too much attention to the scolding. He always wants people to leave comments for his guests.

Excellent information Carl. I never knew massage did all that it does and certainly will consider getting one on a regular basis. The erotic part sounds great for husbands to do or something unromantic women can do for their husbands.

Thank you Isadora. I have been told and I’m sure you have heard that if you find something you love you will never work a day in your life. Well I admit it is later on in my life, but I have found something I love and it is definitely not a job! It’s just amazing.

This is a great post. I have always believed in the power of massage. In high school I would go around massaging my friends legs in between track races because I’d watched something on Discovery that talked about the toxins in muscles. I was convinced I was helping them. I probably wasn’t but whatevs. I’m hugely into massaging my partner it’s so sensual and really creates moments of quiet trust as I explore his body and he allows me to. Tom tells me you are in the Willow Grove area. I am in Warminster.

    • #10 by Iron Cook Carl on December 5, 2011 - 7:40 AM

AnonymousBurn, glad to know you. Yes, I am in the Willow Grove area and I go to school (I’m on my way out the door now), in Quakertown. I already have a client from Warminster. What a very small world. Yes there are lots of toxins in the muscle bellies and massaging can/does release them. It is very important to drink at least 16 ozs. of water after a massage (not all at one time). If you would like a massage I am available!

Sports massage is great for athletes and I’m sure it helped them. We learned that two weeks ago and I’ve incorporated it into everyday massages especially on the calves. I will be setting up a Facebook page offering Christmas gift certificates and will be setting up a website soon. Hope to see you. Thank you for commenting.

      • #11 by AnonymousBurn on December 6, 2011 - 9:52 AM

Oh send me your Facebook page and I’ll like it. I’m a rock climber. I hurt ALL THE TIME! And so do most of my friends. I’d love to get into a schedule of semi-regular massage! Yes, it all sounds quite wonderful to me. Good luck as you finish up your studies!

        • #12 by Iron Cook Carl on December 10, 2011 - 8:05 AM

I have not created the Facebook page yet but I will soon. If you would like to make an appointment or get more information I plan on putting up information for gift certificates on my personal Facebook page or maybe I will just quick create a page for massage. Either way I would welcome the opportunity to have you and your friends as clients. May I email you?

          • #13 by AnonymousBurn on December 11, 2011 - 4:27 PM

Sure you may. I have a contact page over on my site if you don’t mind clicking over to it. It’s a little weird to me to post that on this, not my page.

Erotic massage! The things you see on Tom’s blog. It’s not a bad thing mind you. In fact I thoroughly enjoyed the information. I agree with Tekia. If couples would take the time to stay intimate there might be a lower divorce rate and at least less unfaithfulness. I really enjoyed the post Carl Great job.

    • #15 by Iron Cook Carl on December 4, 2011 - 12:38 PM

Thanks for reading. Tom told me my guest post was the most viewed this year but the comments don’t reflect it so it’s good to see any. I especially like that a guy commented.

Erotic massages are a great way for men to spice up the bedroom life. I wasn’t there for your presentment of the information but the information itself is well put together. I am one of those who believed a massage was just for the rich but I see now how important it is for a body. I’ve made an appointment for next weekend at the local Massage Envy! Thanks Carl and Tom.

    • #17 by Iron Cook Carl on December 4, 2011 - 12:34 PM

My oral report went well. Good eye contact and I used a PowerPoint presentation. I had props and handouts. It was good. Massage Envy wouldn’t be my first choice, but even a bad massage is better than no massage.

This was an enlightening post. I personally like massages although I’ve never had one professionally. I also agree that this should be something incorporated in people’s lives, especially married couples who are feeling a little bored. We always hear that it’s the little things that count and it really does and something this simple could be that small thing that couples can enjoy and not get bored because it’s so relaxing. On top of that it is also something everyone can enjoy as you pointed out. And who doesn’t like relaxation?

    • #19 by Iron Cook Carl on December 4, 2011 - 12:31 PM

Thank you Tekia. If you are ever in the Philly area, please consider calling for a massage. I will give you a therapeutic massage that will have you feeling great for days. People don’t really know how to relax. They think what they call relaxing is relaxing but a good massage will teach them they only thought they knew what relaxation is. Thank you for reading and commenting.

Tom may not have got the answer he wanted from you months ago, but what you posted this month surely was well timed. My husband read this and got a smirk on his face the size of Manhattan. I’m intrigued Iron Cook – my only massage was at a day spa. They handed me a glass of champagne gave me a robe and told me where to lay down. It was very impersonal and cold. Something tells me your massages are not that way. If you ever move back to Indianapolis look us up. My back is really starting to hurt :-)

    • #21 by Iron Cook Carl on December 3, 2011 - 5:44 PM

I thought this was a great time to write my post because the subject was already written. Who gets a 100% on an oral report? Certainly not me. If I am ever in Indy again and your husband doesn’t mind, I would be happy to give you a therapeutic massage.

I thought this was very informative and as a romantically challenge man I would love to put this information to use although I’m sure there is more to it than just rubbing someone as Hippocrates said. Also as an unmarried man I take offense to it being directed only to married men. Very informative and my girlfriend would like it if you could teach me!

    • #23 by Iron Cook Carl on December 3, 2011 - 5:42 PM

I knew some people would take offense to directing this post to married men but as I stated in the post, that is where my heart lies and my convictions. Starting a school to teach massage might be a dream of mine one day.

What a wonderful and informative post. Congrats on finding a new profession, which you enjoy. I would love to learn how to give a good massage, better yet an erotic massage. :-D

    • #25 by Iron Cook Carl on December 3, 2011 - 7:22 AM

Thank you Ms. Sweets. Learning to give a massage is a wonderful thing. There are so many things to remember to do and what not to do. It has been a challenge but I absolutely love it. I’m off to school this morning. I have 4 scheduled clinics to do today and then only 2 left! I appreciate the comment and that you were intrigued enough to read that whole long post.

      • #26 by TemptingSweets99 on December 4, 2011 - 12:47 PM

Carl, I really would love to learn how to give a massage, However, I have to confess that I normally don’t like anyone giving me a massage. This one guy I knew swore he knew how to give the best massages (He was untrained) and was always touching and pressuring my shoulders but it never felt good. (I still shudder when I think about him). However, after your post, I was reconsider getting a massage. I was going to ask where you were located? Unfortunately, I’m not in the Philly area but it’s good to know. If I’m ever headed that way, I’ll know who to call for a professional massage and if I know anyone headed your way, I’ll refer them to you. Do you have a business website? If not, perhaps you should consider one. Nothing fancy but just something to let others know you’re around. ;-)

Massage is a great thing to learn. Originally I got into the school for spa like massages but when I found out how much I could really help people, I was amazed. Most schools have a 6 month course. Mine is 8 months because after the regular course they teach advanced techniques that can really really make a difference. One client came in and was scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery. The woman who owns the school worked on her for just 15 minutes and she canceled her surgery. Amazing stuff – not to mention the toxins you can release from tight muscles. I love it and advise anyone who is thinking about it to do it. Just find the right school.

I have purchased the domain (www.ppsmassage.com) but I have not built the site yet. When I’m finished school and can save a few bucks my final destination is Florida.

          • #28 by TemptingSweets99 on December 4, 2011 - 2:16 PM

Very cool about the lady able to cancel her surgery after massage. Cool, too, about your new domain. Sounds like everything will come together in good time. Florida is definitely warmer. ;-)
