About Me

Name: Tom Baker
Contact: york_litoris {at} gmx {dot} us

My thought process is complicated and sometimes even I don’t know where it’s taking me. Therefore, I really can’t tell you what to expect as far as content here. What I do know is I like to talk and I like to listen. Feel free to comment on whatever I write even if you don’t see things my way. I may be insulted and not respond, but that’s just me being childish. Comment anyway.

I don’t really live in the past, but I do like looking back on where I’ve been and looking forward to where it is I’m going. Life is so precious and so short. Without hurting anyone else I intend to live life to the fullest.

I pretty much started this blog for reasons I have not fully disclosed and the idea that I would actually have visitors and make friends was foreign to me in the beginning. I’m shocked at what I have accomplished since the beginning of this blog. Worldwide friends, helping with giving advice and an ear to listen, posts that came from my heart, learning more about poetry and learning so much about myself that I did not know. Thank you to all the great people who have stopped by here and to those especially who have found a second home here by following this blog.

I appreciate all those particularly whom I can proudly call my friends. Happy blogging.

    OMG …. !!!
I had no idea you were still having your dinner party. I thought you had closed down your blog and everything that went with it.
I have been overloaded with e mails ( over 305) so I must have missed the reminder – if you sent it. I am bummed as I was looking
forward to a little reparte with fellow diners. Mmmmm … I guess I will have to wait for the next one. Do not confuse me … it is not
difficult to do that to me and you sure did. I must say – the on again off again blog is a little hormonal. HAHAHhaaaa …. LOLOL .. Okay – my sense
of humor has affected your tesosterone. Sorry … !!!! I just feel al ittle disappointed. MY BAD – for not checking in anyway.
    Glad your back …
    P.S. where is the menu ??? Just curious … !!! ~~~ : – )

    • #29 by Tom Baker on March 1, 2012 - 11:30 PM

Isadora you were missed but don’t feel bad. I’ve been talked into having another one perhaps next year. The link to the post is here and your menu is https://morningerection.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/isadora.jpg.

YUMMY … I love everything on the menu. It is a gourmet feast. Nice choices … all are favorites. You must have another – of course – that said, I would have to still be around. I am going to my best to be. Look forward to the invite and your postings from now on ….
        Let the WRITING begin …..! ~ : – )

  19. #38 by Mai on February 20, 2012 - 12:04 PM

Tom, I know what you mean when you are talking about the “pretty women with less than attractive men” but I don’t believe that you are less attractive, beauty comes also from the inside :P (anyway, I haven’t seen you yet). As far as I “know” you, she’s a lucky woman! Furthermore, I would also rather decide to travel than to work if I was able to do that.

    • #39 by Tom Baker on February 20, 2012 - 2:32 PM

Thank you for your most kind words. I do tell people that inner beauty is the important beauty so I should listen to my own words. As far as I can “know”, you have both! I hope to see you continue to read and comment here!

      • #40 by Mai on February 20, 2012 - 5:46 PM

Haha, thank you, Tom. Even if I smoke? :D And I somehow like April —- it’s because of her name ;D People always make fun of my name and call me “April” or “June” :D

        • #41 by Tom Baker on February 20, 2012 - 5:52 PM

Let them make fun of your name Mai. Mai is a beautiful name. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Whenever someone tries to make fun of something about me or of me, I always laugh with them. It always ruins it for them that I don’t care.

You would most definitely like April. She is a wonderful woman!

  20. #42 by John Herndon on February 2, 2012 - 10:51 PM

Glad you like the post at Neccessary Miscellany. Thanks for stopping by!

  21. #43 by hajpaj on January 28, 2012 - 10:14 AM

“I still don’t understand how someone as beautiful as she could have ever been interested in me. Have you noticed that lots of times you see pretty women with less than attractive men? That’s me.”
Looks aren’t everything! I’m sure April’s very lucky to have you!

    • #44 by Tom Baker on January 28, 2012 - 10:09 PM

Thank you for saying so. I think she is blessed as well to have me. I know what a blessing she has always been to me. This may sound strange but I love her more than perhaps I should!

  22. #45 by amygabb on January 27, 2012 - 5:25 PM

  40. #80 by Connie Gayle on October 9, 2011 - 8:29 AM

I’ve been lurking on your Morning Erection site for a year now and I decided to comment because I really enjoy your guest posts. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy your posts too. It’s just nice to have the variety every month from your guests and from the poetry you provide. Since the precedent has been set I will comment more often. My husband loved Chris’ guest this month.

    • #81 by Tom Baker on October 9, 2011 - 11:12 AM

A lot of people tell me the same thing. The stigma of commenting on a site called Morning Erection might be too much for some people. I will let Chris know how your husband felt about his post.

  41. #82 by journeyintopoetry on October 9, 2011 - 7:01 AM

Your blog looks really interesting and I will definitely visit again!

I have just started writing poetry to help me understand life a little more after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis this year; “talented” isn’t a word I would use in a description of myself!

I will not disclose my age but suffice to say my children are around your age!!

I would be happy for you to check me out on WordPress.

    Best wishes

    • #83 by Tom Baker on October 9, 2011 - 11:11 AM

Christine, I see that you have come via Pakistani Boy’s site. I am very happy you stopped by. I’m sorry about the diagnosis of MS however I like one of the coping mechanisms you have chosen. I used to write poetry and I even put it up on this site. If you have a poem you wouldn’t mind me sharing here on Poetic License, I would be happy to. I still have a few openings for December. Here is this months selection: https://morningerection.wordpress.com/2011/10/03/poetic-license-october-2011/. I will be by your blog momentarily!

      • #84 by Christine Moran on October 9, 2011 - 12:01 PM

I would be thrilled to share a poem !! I feel very privileged and humbled that you should invite me to do so.

I will choose one and let you have it very shortly.

How do I go about sending it to you?

  42. #86 by A Pakistani Boy on October 7, 2011 - 10:32 PM

Hello Tom, yes, its been a while since I’ve posting on my blog and reading my friends blogs. I am working too much!! I’m glad you liked The Mayonnaise Jar posting. Like I said, I read it at work and had to hide when I started to tear up. I love passing along things like this.

    • #91 by Tom Baker on May 21, 2011 - 2:29 PM

I hope you don’t mind me reposting it. Thanks for stopping by Sylvia. As long as you keep posting, I’ll keep stopping by!

Like others have said, I was terrified when I saw I was getting mail from “Morning Erection” and I wondered why it didn’t go into my SPAM file. Then I saw your email, which looks a lot like (c)litoris and I thought, this dude has got to be kidding, so either you are a really smart spammer and you are collecting information and email addresses out the wazoo… in which case I kind of hate you right now, or you really are doing something productive, which is cool.

Right now, I’m still a little suspicious.

I need one of my peeps to confirm that you don’t have crabs. ;-)

Thanks for your comments on my blog today.

If you’ve never read Kristen Lamb’s brilliant blog http://warriorwriters.wordpress.com/you might want to. She’d tell you to promote your name rather than the erection, if you want to be taken seriously. Check her out. ;-)

    • #93 by Tom Baker on May 20, 2011 - 8:50 AM

I would love to stop by Kristen’s blog. I’m always willing to get knowledge! As for being taken seriously. I never thought I would get one reader when I started this blog let alone the many readers and subscribers, but more importantly, friends I have now.

No need to be suspicious. I hate spam too. Email and the food! Right now I have some to delete! I’m glad you took a chance and visited anyway. My name keeps as many away as it brings curious onlookers. I don’t have crabs either. One post in particular that I take seriously is The Most Beautiful Girl In The World. Please read that post and leave a comment.

Hello I am so glad I found your weblog, I really found you by mistake, while I was looking on Digg for something else, Nonetheless I am here now and would just like to say love the blog and love the name. You really have a distinctive wallpaper collection. Some I have never seen so I downloaded almost all of them! I will stop back frequently for more.

    • #95 by Tom Baker on May 20, 2011 - 8:52 AM

Glad you decided to drop in. May I inquire as to what on Digg you were searching for? The wallpaper pages are consistently the most visited pages here on Morning Erection. I will probably add more in the months to come.

There is obviously a lot for me to discover here on your blog. I have enjoyed many of the posts I’ve read so far. I must say the title and the actual posts are nothing alike (for the most part). I have subscribed and will definitely be back. I’m a science fiction fan too and really liked your perspective – loved the guest post too by Rosemary. Thanks for the great read :)

i’m also a newbie in this blogging thing =) anyway thanks again for dropping by my blog

    • #102 by Tom Baker on February 16, 2011 - 9:21 AM

Cristine, it matters not you are not a pro. The important thing is to write from the heart and I see you do. I noticed you only have a few posts but I hope you stick with it. I also invite you to submit a poem that I can feature on my site this April for Poetry Month. I will frequent your blog and I hope you do mine as well.

  52. #103 by agirlandhercarrot on February 15, 2011 - 6:55 PM

Okay I won’t lie, I was petrified when I saw the comment on my blog was from “morning erection” and so I decided to click on TOM BAKER to see who this cat is. Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope you don’t eat bacon and eggs daily. What a unique site you have, nice to meet a fellow nerd. Cheers!

    • #104 by Tom Baker on February 16, 2011 - 9:19 AM

No, I try to eat very healthy but sometimes I lack the patience to fix something as the oatmeal and bananas. It’s a morning thing. This cat thanks you for taking the chance and stopping by. I’m glad I came across your site.

  53. #105 by Mihir Vatsa on February 11, 2011 - 12:50 PM

And I have no idea why my comment is shown twice. Technical snag, might be.

    • #106 by Tom Baker on February 12, 2011 - 9:48 AM

I took care of it and deleted the second one.

  54. #107 by Mihir Vatsa on February 11, 2011 - 12:46 PM

Morning Erection… Yeah, it does bring a dozen of interesting thoughts in one’s mind. I have no idea how you stumbled on my blog but I think it was really very considerate of you to Like what you read there. Your blog is interesting in itself. Hope to establish a good blogging friendship.

    • #108 by Tom Baker on February 12, 2011 - 9:50 AM

I found your blog while searching for poetry to feature during April. Thanks for coming by here. It would be great if we could establish a blogging friendship. That is why I am here. Also if there is a poem that you would like me to feature in April, just let me know! Thanks again for coming by Mihir.

      • #109 by Mihir Vatsa on February 12, 2011 - 11:25 AM

To feature on your blog in April would indeed be nice. Please let me know what I’m required to do for that.

        • #110 by Tom Baker on February 13, 2011 - 9:41 PM

All you need to do Mihir is send me a link to the exact poem you want me to use.

          • #111 by Mihir Vatsa on February 14, 2011 - 11:34 AM

You can use ‘Hazaribagh House’ for that matter but I think it would be better if I give a brief context of the poem so that people understand it in a more appropriate way. The poem celebrates the lost glory of a health resort town, Hazaribagh, India. (You can google the town if you want) and is set in the backdrop of pre-independent India. The link is here attached with this message. Please let me know if the poem is any worth. :)

  56. #114 by joseruypc on February 6, 2011 - 12:40 AM

Hello, Tom. It was such a joy to receive your comment on my poem. It will be a pleasure to participate of your Poetic License Series. You have my authorization to reproduce my poem. By the way, thanks for sending the link to previous published poems. I really like the idea and the work you do with them.
Do you also publish the poems in paper or only virtually?
    José Ruy

    • #115 by Tom Baker on February 7, 2011 - 8:32 AM

José, thank you very much. I will add your poem shortly to the December post. I’m a big fan of poetry and I like being able to feature new poems on my site. When I created the magazine I thought it would be a great surprise for those who allowed me to share their poetry on my site. I don’t publish them on paper but what you see on Issuu can be downloaded and printed from your computer.

    Hi Tom Baker,

What type of physician are you? Somehow I think you are a pediatrician/paediatrician. Am I right?
    Welcome to WordPress.

    • #187 by Tom Baker on October 29, 2009 - 8:12 AM

Actually I don’t practice medicine but I am what you would call a family practitioner. Unfortunately I have probably forgotten more than I learned. I don’t even like talking about medicine in reality, so please don’t even call me Dr. It’s just Tom. Thanks for visiting.

Thank you so very much for the kind words. They are always appreciated. Welcome to blogging!! I checked out your blog and love it (especially the name!). Whatever you do, just keep it going. It will catch on and you will be amazed as more and more people subscribe. I wold be honored you link to mine. However, I regrettably cannot return the favor. I’m a published author and the name rights (Something’s Very Wrong) require my publisher to agree on any links from my site – – – and they generally just don’t. I hope you understand!
