30 Days Of Blogging Honesty: Thoughts On

It was a lot of work. It was very hectic but most of all it was fun. To sum my thoughts up in a single word on the 30 Days of Blogging Honesty; impressive.

  • I was impressed with the way everyone interacted with one another the most. I noticed that comments and replies to posts were not just from blogger to blogger but also crossed over into other blogs and the same conversation continued to another blogger’s post.
  • I was impressed that everyone respected other viewpoints on subjects they might not agree with.
  • I was also impressed to see people not involved in the challenge leaving comments and traveling to different blogs and leaving comments for the first time.
  • I was impressed with the feeling of community and comradery. It wasn’t just one person leaving comment after comment. People took the time to read other comments and replied to them as well.

My question to everyone who took part is two-fold. First, how did you feel about the challenge and do you feel you will continue visiting some of the blogs that were new to you at first? Secondly, there are different levels of honesty. Would you say that you were completely honest in most of your responses or were you just honest?

I’d like to thank everyone who took part in the challenge this year. There is a meme taking place in July if you would like to be a part of that and another one in December. And yes, we will have another Honesty challenge this coming February. Woo-hoo!

Let’s try to get some more men to participate, if only for my sake. But don’t think for one moment that I don’t love being surrounded by twenty plus woman and being the only male. Thank you Sajeev for joining the pack. I have also thanked you on the Handshakes, Hugs & Kisses page but again, thank you everyone who took this month-long journey and a special thank you to Cherlyn for coming up with most of the questions.

That’s all I got.

30 Days Of Blogging Honesty: The Dare

Category: Good Eats
Eat completely healthy for an entire day even if it means eating foods you do not care for. Document all failures or start over another day if you mess up.

Originally I did not follow directions. I did the dare requiring me to offer an apology to someone. Instead I wrote a forgiveness letter for someone who did me wrong. I believe I left the pain in the past and have forgiven the person but never let him know. Because I don’t have a way to get the letter to him and being the host of this meme, I thought it was not appropriate to deviate from the ‘spirit’ of the dare. So, I decided yesterday to change up and eat healthier. This enables me to fulfill this dare as well as come up with a few recipes that I can feature in August. During the entire month of August I am going to have food and health related posts with three or four recipes.

For breakfast I had four eggs. Despite any bad press that eggs have received over the years, they really are good for you. You even get more benefits by having both the yolk and whites together rather than just the whites.

For lunch I had vegetable panini. It was delicious. Let me say that again. It was so good, I wanted it for dinner too. It was delicious. First I sautéed onions, garlic and mushrooms together with cayenne pepper. Then I buttered the chabatta bread and heated the panini maker. I put the sandwich together by layering American cheese, mushrooms, garlic and onions mixture. Next came the spinach and thinly sliced tomatoes. I closed the top of the sandwich and closed the lid on the panini maker. The rest is history.

Dinner was good too. I made grilled jerk chicken and jerk shrimp that I had never heard of before but wanted to try to make it. The jerk seasoning I found on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives aka Triple D. There were 36 ingredients and that was just to much for someone who doesn’t own a restaurant. Using nothing but my pantry and imagination I altered the recipe but still the chicken and shrimp came out very tasty. The recommended time for marinating the shrimp is only two hours. All the citrus juice in the marinade would have cooked the shrimp if I kept them in for the 10 hours the chicken was marinating. For my post in August I am going to marinate for  at least over night.

I had no dessert and drank more than enough water for the day? Do you know how you can tell if you have had enough water for the day? When your urine is clear, you’ve had enough.

It is finished! The challenge returns in February 2013 and the questions will be posted mid December. If you want your questions to be a part of the challenge, give me your questions now or I will get them elsewhere.

30 Days Of Blogging Honesty: Day 30

One question or subject matter if I were asked here on 30 Days of Blogging Honesty I know I would refuse to answer or definitely lie about is…

Unfortunately nothing. I feel confident that I can share anything without fear of embarrassment or shame. I am a very open person and I don’t mind writing about myself. Talking about myself is a different story but I can write with little or no problem. There is no topic off limits. I’ve already written about being an nudist, teen sexcapades, and I have an Ask page set up for all the questions I’m tired of answering in emails. On that page though I do admit I might not tell the truth. During these honesty months, you can trust that I am!

With this being the last question of the month, I can say in all honesty that one of the reasons I like the meme questions and next year’s honesty questions to be contributed by participants is when forced to come up with questions by myself my mind has a tendency to resort to questions of a sensual or sexual nature when I run out of questions to ask.

To avoid creating questions others may be too uncomfortable answering, I ask for your help. Not everyone has the advantage or inclination to be honest in every aspect of their lives. Also keeping sexually natured questions to a minimum allows more people to feel comfortable taking part in the month long event and the memes. Also it helps that people don’t feel the necessity to distance themselves from me because they think I’m too weird or perhaps a pervert.

No subject is off limits while creating questions for the honesty months. That is the reason for an alternate question. If a question makes you uncomfortable you can always select the alternate. If more than one is uncomfortable, you can always pass on the challenge. Next year you will want to consider the alternate question carefully because question 28 could make your head spin if you choose the alternate too early on in the month! Ha ha ha!

This is last call for questions for the February 2013 honesty month. I would like to finish that post and schedule it for sometime in December. There are still eighteen open slots for questions.

It was a great month however yet still it is nice that it has come to an end. Looking forward to the dares. Did anyone know that April 30th was National Honesty Day? I just found out today. There are two new people who have expressed an interest in doing the month of honesty. One has already began, Weatheredeye and Serendipity has shown interest. I’m not sure if Serendipity will use here WordPress blog or her Tumblr to do the challenge. Another blogger, Amber, somehow came across last years questions and has started posting those answers. If you have time, please visit their sites and give them support by commenting.

Well, tomorrow is the day. The first Saturday of every month I have a wonderful and gifted guest blogger. This month is no different. My friend Prinsesa has created a guest post about the Holy Week in her country of the Philippines. It is very interesting and I would hope that some if not all of you would stop in and support her. Stop by her blog and partake of a few of her posts if you have never looked at Prinsesa’s Anatomy.
