30 Days Of Blogging Honesty: Day 3

Regardless of my current status, do I believe a person should save themself for marriage…

I do now. I did not always think this way and I certainly did not wait until marriage but I really believe it would be a nice thing to experience for the new bride and groom. I hear often the argument that you need to know beforehand if the two of you are compatible. I think that a marriage is the biggest job you will ever have in life. It is a job. It is work! Just like any other aspect of married life, there is give and take. There are introverts married to extroverts. Meatatarians married to vegetarians. People with a low libido married to nymphomaniacs.

It’s all give and take. It’s all compromise. If you love your spouse you are going to want to please them in any way you can. If you love your spouse you are going to have to go out of your comfort zone on occasion and perform a sexual act you might not find enjoyable at first. Perhaps you will later. I don’t see anything wrong with saving yourself for marriage other than it being so hard to do, especially today. I truly am trying to live my life by the Bible so yes, I believe in waiting.

I also want to let everyone know that although I did not comment on most of your posts yesterday, I did read them. I did not want to disagree with your answers and I did not want to express my opinion because I believe my post today explains better to you, how I would have responded if I had commented on your post. I did not in anyway want to sound like a parent or a preacher/teacher. Everyone’s feelings and opinions are welcome at this 30 day honesty table and I did not want to come off as if I was being judgmental. Even though I would not have meant it to be, for fear of it coming across that way, I did not comment on most posts yesterday. No hard feelings I hope (paronomasia most definitely intended)!

Here is the most up to date listing of everyone participating:

Happy Anniversary April Baker

One year of marriage. One year of heaven on earth.

To My Beautiful, Wonderful, Selfless Wife April…
Who Cooks In The Kitchen and the Bedroom!

Thank you for making this past year the most wonderful year of my entire life. Thanks for putting up with me, for understanding me
and for loving me even when you don’t.

I thought when we wed that I knew what love was. I couldn’t have known what it was
or else my love for you wouldn’t have grown over the past 365 days.

Being my wife is great. Being your husband is great as well,
but I must admit that being friends with you has been the glue that has helped me be a better husband
and has kept us both grounded. You are truly wonderful.

There is more I could write, but that’s private. I love you and always will!

~Tom

Adultery And The Other Weather

Adultery is one of the worst mental and physical crimes you can commit against the one you claim to love. I admit it’s just my opinion but as a newlywed I find the act disgusting and tasteless.

Pregnancies often rise as the temperature sinks. Right now much of the globe is suffering from unimaginable cold weather and record snow amounts. I’m writing this post today, January 7th for publication tomorrow. In Minot, ND the temperature is  -17 degrees, here in Indianapolis it’s about 98.6 degrees as April and I lay in bed spooning. I digress, but I’m also in love.

Truthfully the temperature is 9 degrees here. In Orlando, FL the mercury reads a chilly 33 degrees. Across the pond in Great Britain,

Great Britain is in a total state of collapse, airports are closed, hospitals cancel operations, and transport via road and rail has been disturbed due to a thick layer of snow in the south of Wales, north-east and central England, as well as Scotland.

In their infrastructure collapse there is a collapse of another nature. Moral collapse as well. I have learned that the Illicit Encounters website has seen a marked increase in traffic since the record snowfalls. The website is designed to allow members to find partners for married couples to have affairs with. I was watching Wake Up With Al on the Weather Channel this morning and Al Roker told viewers that the site has gained over 2500 members in the last six days.

Not new individual visitors to the site. New sign ups looking to cheat on their spouses.

Sarah Hartley of Illicit Encounters UK said, “the adverse weather has obviously influenced many sign-ups. Usually, the West Country is a relatively quiet area for us – but over the last 3 days we have received over 900 new members from Cornwall, Devon and Dorset. It’s a sad state of affairs! No pun intended.

I am appalled but not surprised. Nothing surprises me today. The ethics and moral of good people are fast becoming extinct much like the fate of the polar bears…
