Something I would change about myself right now is…
How lazy I have become in respect to exercising. I like working out and I need to work out but when my better half brings it up I always use the same excuse…
… I’ll get all the sexercise I need later on! She usually agrees. Vive la difference!
I talked about all the sugar in the soda I drink, I talked about the great and powerful Doctor Oz, and I told you how much I despise death. That should get me off my butt and workout but I am in denial lately. My parents are going to visit soon and they walk regularly. I think I will join them! I could stand to lose about 25 pounds as long as they come off at the waist and I can decrease the size of my omentum.

Because my site is called Morning Erection, I get at least twenty to thirty search engine referrals a day on ‘no longer have morning erection’. I feel bad that so many people are being directed to my site because of its name, but are not finding the information they seek. Still others are directed to my site (I’m assuming they are teen boys), who want to know how to stop morning erections. To them I say, be careful what you ask for. Morning erections are natural and as you get older chances are you will grow out of the frequency that they occur. Trust me though, you don’t want them to go away. Man up and deal with them.
Morning erections are actually night erections (Nocturnal Penile Tumescence) and occur several times during the night. Morning erections are not caused by a full bladder. That is a common misconception. It is a natural response of the body and they are not necessarily accompanied by dreams of a sexual nature. Most healthy males experience ‘morning wood’ and it is a sign that they are healthy. It is not uncommon to find that your nighttime or morning erections are a lot harder than the ones you experience during the day (see photo of an semi erect penis 20 minutes after waking with an erection). An erection while asleep usually occurs during REM sleep. REM sleep or Rapid Eye Movement is when you are dreaming and in a deep sleep. An erection happens when the brain signals the release of nitric oxide into the blood stream. Blood rushes into the penile shaft and the veins leading away from the penis become constricted. With the blood trapped the penis engorged grows longer and stiff. An erection is born. See Figure 2.

Approximately 30 million American men suffer from erectile dysfunction. Across the world it is estimated that 140 million men are afflicted. Erectile dysfunction is the inability for a man to produce a sustainable erection. Erectile dysfunction is not premature ejaculation. Premature ejaculation is a condition where a man frequently reaches climax before he or his spouse wishes.
The degree to which a man suffers from ED varies widely. There are many causes and factors that can lead to erectile dysfunction. Alcohol consumption, age, drug use including cigarettes, heredity, and stress to name a few, all play a role in who might develop ED. Being overweight, especially excess belly fat can cause ED or at the very least the lack of morning erections. Belly fat triggers the release of estrogen in the male body and if testosterone levels are already low, it can cause the lack of morning erections. Losing your morning salute is cause for concern and when you explain things to your doctor you will find that most phallus problems can be solved medically.
Lack of exercise can contribute to impotence too. Your penis wants to do more than lay in your lap all day and all night while you watch television. After training to play Muhammad Ali, Will Smith told the media that sex is so much better now. Go exercise. Walk 10,000 steps a day. Jog around the block. Practice hitting a tennis ball on a building wall. Do something aerobic and every now and again give your scrotum a break and go without underwear, especially if you and your wife are trying to get pregnant. Give your little swimmers room to roam.
If you have an epiphany one day that you are no longer having morning erections you should see your doctor. Most erections require some type of stimulation. This is not the case for erections men get while they are asleep. The inability to have morning erections can be a signal that some thing is wrong with your health and may not be a sexual problem at all. The lack of morning erection is the result of the problem but not the root of the problem. The root of the problem might be a life threatening ailment.
If you are suffering from impotence there are many treatments and not all of them involve drugs. Don’t delay. Your future is ahead.
For the teenagers who should have left but are still here; unexpected erections are common for teens and getting morning erections is something you want to continue for as long as possible. Yes, it can be embarrassing to some, however if you consider the problem of not being able to achieve an erection when you need it, that might be far more embarrassing.
A man went into a pharmacy and asked to talk to a male pharmacist.
