The Dares: Update

30 Days of Blogging Honesty: The Dare

Category: Photogenic (New)
Post a picture of yourself with a person you would not normally approach (a rabid football fan, a neon raver, a crazed cat woman, etc) or post a picture of the place you live in from the tallest place in town (building, mountain, hill, etc).

Category: Newsworthy (New)
We also received a dare from someone who did not participate in the 30 Days Of Blogging Honesty but I don’t see the harm in including it. I did tweak it a bit.
Say hello to a perfect stranger and gauge their reaction and see if they will allow you to interview them for your blog. Ask a minimum of 4 questions. Post the interview.

Category: Youngins
Write a letter to your 16-year-old self and post it. Detail your journey.

Category: Coulda, Shoulda, Wouldas
Write a letter to someone you owe an apology to but never gave one. It does not have to be a long letter. Just write the letter (not email),  send it and then post it for us to see.

Category: Good Eats
Eat completely healthy for an entire day even if it means eating foods you do not care for. Document all failures or start over another day if you mess up.

Category: ARKs
For a 24 hour period, for every act of kindness given to you, pay it forward to a stranger one better.  For example – if a friend buys you a coffee, buy two strangers a cup of coffee. Detail your journey.

Category: Truthiness
For a 24 hour period you must tell the truth in every situation, every question – all day long. Perhaps the most difficult will be not lying to yourself. Detail your journey.

Category: Blushing
Spend an hour by yourself totally naked even if there are other people in the house but only if you won’t get caught. If you get interrupted you must start over and reset the clock to zero minutes. Detail your journey.

I look forward to reading all the dares! I know you are as well. Don’t forget, your dares are due to be posted no later than five (5) days after you finish your last honesty day.

Write a letter to your 16-year-old self and post it. Detail your journey. <–what do you mean by detailing one's journey?

Just the emotions you had while writing it and how you felt after it is finished. By the way I went to you Tumblr page and saw all the photos. It looks like you guys are having a great time here.

hahah you did? oh my! I think most of the pictures are of us eating! hahah :D yes, I am making a point to enjoy the rest of my staycation :D

Does the letter have to be handwritten? or Can I just go ahead and write the letter as a post and then put a link on a different post where I document my journey? :D Just asking for specifics coz it’s the dare that I am thinking of doing but I want to do it right :D

        • #4 by Tom Baker on May 30, 2012 - 11:54 AM

It is your dare, compose it any way you like! No, it does not have to be handwritten. Just a regular post. Enjoy it, don’t anguish over it my friend.

    • #8 by Tom Baker on May 27, 2012 - 11:03 PM

I am honestly behind, I am working 14 hrs a day doing security, it will change soon and I will blog more often, thanks for coming to remind me on my blog.

    • #14 by Tom Baker on May 2, 2012 - 3:32 PM

Take your time Jackie. Good things come to those who are patiently enjoying their virtue.

Oh no! I’m breaking the rules here. I have it done up and scheduled but…it won’t be within 5 days.

    • #16 by Tom Baker on May 2, 2012 - 9:59 AM

I won’t complain about the number of days. I’m just going to sit and be patient. Some rules were made to be broken.

I can’t wait to read some of the posts from this! The dares are the best part!

    • #19 by Tom Baker on May 1, 2012 - 12:19 PM

Really? You think the dares will be more revealing than the whole month. Let’s see…

  6. #20 by Cherlyn on May 1, 2012 - 10:31 AM

Wouldn’t ARKs be RAKs? Cause isn’t it a Random Act of Kindness? I’m confused. I know which one I’m doing though :)

    • #21 by Tom Baker on May 1, 2012 - 12:14 PM

I stole ARKs from Evan Almighty. I think God told him to build an ark and used ARK and not RAK. I think that is where I got it from.

      • #22 by Cherlyn on May 1, 2012 - 4:32 PM

Oh Ok, cool! Havent seen that movie, but that makes sense now, thanks for clarifying :D

  7. #23 by nenskei on May 1, 2012 - 4:38 AM

I’m little confused which of the dares I will choose to! Ugh!

    • #24 by Tom Baker on May 1, 2012 - 12:13 PM

I think I know but I will have to wait to see.

      • #25 by nenskei on May 1, 2012 - 12:19 PM

        Uh oh! We’ll see!

        • #26 by Tom Baker on May 1, 2012 - 12:22 PM

I cannot wait! I’m sorry if I already asked you this but are you going to do this again in February? If so how about adding a question of your own. If you have already done so, forgive my forgetfulness.
