The Great News Concerning Our Friend Anne

There is great news in triplicate! First, Anne has decided to seek help at a facility where she can get the counseling that she needs and we need for her to have. She is still in the process of making arrangements but it looks as if she will be going soon.

The second part of the good news is so many wonderful friends of this blog have given her words of encouragement and hopefully new and lasting friendships will be forged. I have told Anne that she can think of me as family. She liked the idea and now calls me Kuya, which means older brother in Tagalog. Sometimes the friendships we make in life are closer than that of family so I welcome Anne as my little sister.

Thirdly, Anne has requested books while she is in the facility. Iron Cook Carl has volunteered to take care of sending and collecting the books. There isn’t much time to get them to her and postage is expensive because books are so heavy. She will have no contact with the outside (no phones, television or internet). I am sure she will also want more books when she gets out of the rehabilitation facility. For that reason, if you would like to contribute a book (new or used) or money for postage, you can contact Carl through my contact page. I will forward all email to him and he can give you his address. She likes fallen angel novels but will read anything – probably even magazines.

The great news is Anne is seeking help. Please don’t feel obligated or compelled to help with the postage or books if it is not within your means. I am just making the need known. Thank you all! For everyone who visited her blog and left comments I thank you. For everyone who wanted to but didn’t have the words, I thank you too. For all the prayers, even more thanks!

You have done a wonderful humanitarian thing in helping Anne. She needs to know that people are there to support her and give her encouragement no matter how many times she may falter. It will be a difficult time for her while getting her care. She will need to go inside and face many of her fears and demons. They may even decide that medication is something she may need to balance her emotions. I can assure from first hand knowledge, through my own Mothers’ mental issues, that rest is of the utmost during her stay at this facility. Her mind and emotions may feel like they want to be left alone and that is what she will need. It may be sometime before she may want to face people or everyday life. This will be a long road ahead and will not be without set backs. It is part of the healing process for mental illness. I wish her well and prayers will continue to come her way from me and I’m sure others. You have added some beautiful karma to your life in doing this blessed thing you have done.

I have written a poem that describes what happens to the children of the mentally depressed.

God Bless you in 2012 – Happy New Year ….!!!

Sorry for my lateness. It’s wonderful of you to take someone like Anne under your wing, you are a great person Tom, don’t ever forget it. And I’m glad she’s seeking help, that alone can be the toughest decision, and I’m glad you helped her along the way. I’m sure with support she can get better and find happiness and a reason to keep going on. I’ll try to send at least some money for postage if I can afford it, I’d like to do what I can to help!

I got an address from Anne to send books to but it seems you will be in constant contact with her . I thank you in advance for acting as liaison. You are very right, there are individuals out there that would take advantage of someone in a vulnerable state,( people who aren’t vulnerable are taken advantage of) Anne needs friends and support so I commend you for taking it upon yourself ot act as big brother.

I am struggling myself at the moment and doubt I will get anything shipped before she enters the facility. I was planning on making it a more long term kind of support, sending books, magazines, perhaps even. special plaque with an inspirational saying on it, whenever I see something I think she might enjoy. She will need friends and support after she is out on her own again. Will you be providing this service long term?

    I will keep in touch.
