Second Blogger Meet-Up Nude Dinner Party

Well the day is finally here. Tonight almost forty of my blogging friends will converge on my home and hopefully enjoy a mostly organic meal in their most organic selves. The table is set including place cards for seating, the music has been chosen and and the host is mentally preparing for a houseful of guests. Last year a few people felt a little uncomfortable with total nudity so this year the lighting has been altered and candles will be the only light in the dining room. Furthermore if you are not happy with your menu, there will be plenty of food to choose from everyone elses main course but I do hope you are pleased.

Most of you know that I love cooking and that is the basis for this faux dinner party. Since the first dinner party I threw went so well I wanted to have yet another one. It would have been nice to invite everyone from last time and all the new friends, however not everyone is still blogging and not everyone still visits here regularly. Let’s not focus on the past though. Enjoy this evening to the fullest. If you were not a regular visitor here when I decided to do this last December but you would like to join in; feel free. Your menu will be the Unexpected But Invited Guests. Keep in mind that this is a nude party but do not take it seriously. It’s just a little bit of fun.

Click on your name to see your menu. Names that include an asterisk were also in attendance at the first Dinner Party.

Dinner Conversation

Since we are obviously not really getting together, I thought it might be fun if we simulated dinner conversation. If you don’t mind (and in keeping with the spirit of fun and fellowship), share two things below in the comment section that might come up in casual dinner talk between we bloggers. If you can think of at least two things about yourself that you have never shared with your blog readers, please enlighten us here. Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe what you think of might only come up after a few glasses of wine! Think carefully.

Many thanks for humoring me and coming to the dinner my friends! In lieu of a mini blogging conference when we wake up tomorrow you will be treated to February’s guest blogger, Mai Mergili. Mai’s post is about her passion for photography and fashion. Enjoy!

Virtual Dinner Party Tomorrow

Morning Erection’s Second Dinner Party
Tomorrow Friday, February 24th, 7:00 pm

Invitations were expressed in December and preparations are almost finished. Remember to bring your appetite and nothing else to my second virtual blogger dinner party. There were 38 invitees which means 38 different main course menus. Everything will be prepared and ready to go and dinner will be served promptly at 7:00 pm.

Please be honest and let me know if you do not like what I have prepared for you. My skin is relatively thick so it won’t bother me. This is all for fun anyway although I really think it would be great to meet all of you.

If you would have wanted to be invited and were not, you can still show up. Just don’t be too late or you can count on being the ones stuck with cleaning the dishes. Tomorrow you can choose the Unexpected But Invited Menu.

Invitations Were Extended To:

Yuuki Chan, Judy Santiago, Blaga Todorova, Brittany, Mariana, TheRealSharon, Rose Reynolds, Cherlyn Cochrane, Mai Mergili, Michelle Teoh, Chris Ferrell, Te’Kia Miller, Paul Orr, Iron Cook Carl, TemptingSweets, Noeleen, Addielicious, Deborah Bryan, Ev, Sylvia Garza, Prinsesa Musang, AnonymousBurn, Isadora De La Vega, Janie Blim, Lisa, Kat, Melinda, Giovanna, Chris King, Jia Xin, Seth Winternight, SeeNote, Kara, David (1MereMortal), Kim Koning, Irish Precious, Ina, and Ruth Ligget

No alcoholic beverages will be served as I want everyone coherent and ready for an enjoyable evening of conversation. I hope to see you all tomorrow evening. I just have one question for you guys… Where are my sous chefs?

Mai Mergili, an Asian student living in Germany and who wrote a guest post for a guy in America that will be published this Saturday. Mai has many passions but she is most passionate about photography, fashion and music. Mai is only sixteen and was very willing to be my guest blogger when I asked. I can assure you that you will enjoy her post. Come back this Saturday after you are finished eating Friday’s dinner. In the meantime, spend some time reading her blog, Pencil Pillow.

Philly Cheesesteak

Two of the bloggers who participated in the meme yesterday were from Philadelphia and my guest blogger Iron Cook Carl is from Willow Grove which is just outside of Philadelphia. With his help I was able to put this post together to at least begin my month of food related posts. I was inspired to post my recipe for a Philly Cheesesteak and see what you think about it. If you have never had an authentic cheesesteak I’m going to ask you to never get one. What you talkin’ bout Willis?

Let me explain. Authentic Philadelphia Cheesesteaks use Cheez Whiz. Personally Cheez Whiz belongs on a cheesesteak the same way vomit belongs on your cereal. It’s culinary sacrilege. There are many variations to the cheesesteak as far as what kind of cheese to use: mozzarella, provolone or white American.  Whether or not you want sautéed onions, hot peppers, mushrooms, banana peppers, bell peppers, salt and pepper, or with the addition of shredded lettuce and tomatoes, the all powerful cheesesteak hoagie! Ketchup and mayonnaise are also optional but if you put mayonnaise on a cheesesteak don’t think about sitting at the same table with me. You have to eat somewhere else. I do feel that strongly bout it!

So you know Cheez Whiz is out! The one constant in a Philly Cheesesteak is the bread. True cheesesteak aficionados only use Amoroso long rolls to make their sandwiches. When making a cheesesteak do not use Steak-Ums. Get a butcher to cut thinly sliced rib-eye or top round for you. It is easier to purchase the roast, freeze it and bring it back to the butcher to get it sliced as thin as humanly possible.

It is quite possible that if you try to make a cheesesteak with Cheez Whiz crap that you might like it. For that reason you should try to make it with either provolone, mozzarella or white American cheese first. Then after that, you won’t like it with Cheez Whiz. I guarantee! Wanna make one? Or better yet, let me make it for you.

Philadelphia Cheesesteak
Prep Time 15:00 minutes, Makes two sandwiches
In other words, serves one

1 medium onion, sliced thin
12 ozs. thinly sliced rib-eye steak
Four slices provolone cheese
Two slices mozzarella
2 Amoroso rolls, sliced but not through ends
Mushrooms (optional)
Bell peppers (optional)
Goya Adobo seasoning to taste

Sauté onions on low flame until translucent in fry pan. Remove the onions and turn heat up to medium. Cook the meat until brown and add seasoning to taste. Add onions back into pan and separate contents into two piles. Place the cheese on top of the piles of onions and meat to melt. Cover with open rolls. When cheese is melted use spatula to fold meat and onions into roll. Serve with pickle, French fries and ketchup. Mmm mmm great!

On a side note: some bloggers from yesterday’s meme are under the impression they can only visit blogs that they have never visited or commented on before. Not so. As long as you do visit the sites you don’t normally or have never visited, you can also visit and comment on all the other blogs that participated as well. Also another blogger who had difficulties with scheduling has her meme answers posted; visit Disjointed Rhymings to read and comment.
